Ricoh
celebrate the opening of their new Wellington technology Centre

Prime
Minister John Key with Ricoh's National Sales Manager Craig Loveridge
Prime Minister
John Key was special guest speaker at the opening of Ricoh New Zealand's
Wellington Technology Centre on Wednesday, 1 July 2009.
Other invited guests included Mayor Kerry Prendergast, prominent Wellington
business leaders, long time Ricoh clients, Ricoh staff, and former and
current All Blacks who were also celebrating the 10-year association between
Ricoh and Wellington rugby.
Following a tour of the new facility, John Key addressed the crowd citing
a number of examples where modern technology was making business and government
vastly more cost-efficient. His focus on efficiency and sustainability
through technology encapsulated the significant themes of the evening
and was further reflected in the hardware and software solutions on display.
Ricoh New Zealand's Managing Director Mike Pollok also spoke at the opening
declaring his expectation that the new "centre of excellence"
will be a valuable resource for Wellington businesses.
“We want to showcase the latest that Ricoh has to offer and show businesses
how they can use innovative hardware and software solutions to achieve
greater productivity. An environment like this encourages all our customers
and suppliers to challenge the way they currently handle information and
explore opportunities to become more efficient in all aspects of their
document communication from creation and storage through to accessibility
and distribution.”
Mr Pollok warned guests not to be fooled into thinking that the Wellington
Technology Centre is just a room full of photocopiers and flat screen
TVs!
“The biggest advances here lie in the software that Ricoh and our partners
have developed to work with these devices to process, communicate and
store information around your own network and around the world.”
Mr Pollok also informed guests that Ricoh's technology helps clients to
minimise their impact on the environment.
“At Ricoh, we
believe that being environmentally responsible and saving money needn't
be poles apart.
“Environmental sustainability is at the core of
Ricoh New Zealand 's business strategy, as it is for Ricoh globally. Last
year Ricoh New Zealand achieved a significant milestone in becoming the
first business in our industry to achieve carbon neutrality through Landcare
Research's carboNZero Cert TM programme.”
