Ricoh issues Ricoh Group Integrated Report 2023
TOKYO, October 31, 2023 – Ricoh today issued the English edition of the Ricoh Group Integrated Report 2023. The report serves as a cornerstone of Ricoh’s proactive information disclosure for external stakeholders such as shareholders and investors.
Recognizing today's growing interest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment and greater expectation for detailed information disclosure, the Report offers in-depth information about the Ricoh Group's medium- to long-term outlook, overviews of initiatives aimed to enhance corporate value, and ESG-specific initiatives and performance data. The Report is the latest Ricoh corporate publication of this year in addition to Ricoh Group TCFD Report 2023 and Ricoh Group Circular Economy Report 2023 issued on October 2 and Ricoh Group ESG Databook 2023 on September 6.
By continuing to promote timely, appropriate, and proactive information disclosure to deepen our stakeholders’ understanding of Ricoh, Ricoh strives to improve management quality, grow our business, and further enhance our corporate value.
Ricoh Group Integrated Report 2023
In April 2023, Akira Oyama took the helm at Ricoh as President and CEO. Ricoh’s corporate philosophy Ricoh Way was revised, and Fulfillment through Work positioned as Mission and Vision. This Report introduces the 21st Mid-Term Management Strategy (MTS), a three-year period of "execution" to transition to a digital services company. Key enhancements and improvements are as follows.
- Management leadership under new structure
To Our Stakeholders section presents Ricoh’s strategies, initiatives, and our president and CEO’s personal thoughts on transitioning into a digital services company. A conversation between the Chairperson and the Lead Independent Director section refers to Ricoh’s CEO succession and 21st MTS development process through episodes. - Ricoh’s value creation process as a digital services company
The Report offers the overview of Ricoh’s value creation process and detailed explanation on key management capital, Ricoh’s strengths driving work transformations, business model, and establishment and monetization of digital services-based recurring revenues business. It also showcases Group Headquarters’ strategies that assist Ricoh’s transition into a digital services company, such as Human Capital Strategy section introducing value creation model and related initiatives for cultivating Ricoh’s unique human capital and Financial and Capital Strategy on how we oversee businesses through Return On Invested Capital (ROIC) management and capital policies supporting growth. - Value creation through Business Growth and ESG alignment
The Report features Ricoh leadership perspectives, Business Unit leaders discussing their thoughts, strategy, and initiatives on business growth and regional presidents on their views on 21st MTS. In ESG section, environmental and social initiatives and achievements are highlighted in addition to Ricoh efforts to realize corporate governance structure with high transparency and effectiveness.
Ricoh Group TCFD Report 2023
In 2018, Ricoh announced its commitment to the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) recommendation. Ricoh has since promoted mitigation and adaptation initiatives after defining the risks and opportunities associated with climate change. In conjunction, it has been disclosing information based on the TCFD Information Disclosure framework through its website and other mediums, continue to issue this Report since fiscal 2021.
The 2023 Report includes detailed roadmaps of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions reduction measures and effects by 2030, as well as specific examples of Scope 3 reduction measures to further reinforce Ricoh’s commitment to transparency and responsible environmental practices.
Ricoh Group Circular Economy Report 2023
The Comet Circle™ vision, established in 1994 by the Ricoh Group, is a concept for bringing about a circular economy. For nearly 30 years, Ricoh has based its endeavors on this vision, promoting the effective use of resources throughout the entire product lifecycle and the initiatives needed for bringing about a circular economy. Through such efforts, Ricoh has been transforming the recycling and reuse of products and parts into commercial ventures.
The Circular Economy Report issued in March 2022 was the first of its kind by a Japanese company. Since then, Ricoh has been issuing this report annually enhancing its disclosure through dialogue with stakeholders. The updated 2023 Report has enhanced disclosure of one of our ESG targets, the virgin material usage rate of products, by including measures and effects of reduction by 2030, and also included GHG reduction effects as well as resource conservation effects in the resource conservation case studies to reinforce Ricoh’s commitment and disclosure activities.
Ricoh Group ESG Data Book 2023
Ricoh has been issuing the ESG Data Book, which lists the Company's ESG initiatives as quantitative data, since fiscal 2019. The Book is continuously updated to reflect ESG information disclosure guidelines and the evaluation criteria for ESG indexes, both domestic and international. The Book also showcases ESG targets related to revised material issues from fiscal 2023.
